We love vacationing with Jim and Cindy!  They are ready to make our vacation relaxing and fun.  Jim shows you where the fish are biting and will show you how to rig your lines so you try your luck fishing for those trophy fish.  I like to fish for Smallies, Walleye and Northern.  My husband likes to fish for Lake Trout and will head out to Trout Hole 1 as soon as he can get the truck unloaded and the boat launched.  The grounds and cabins are always clean!  Cindy made me a blueberry cheesecake for my birthday... oh soooo good!  We have seen wildlife on the lake including a lynx swimming from one island to another.  I am still waiting for that elusive moose to show up… not too close, of course.   The hummingbirds come to the feeders in the camp and are a joy to watch.  It’s nice to be away from the telephone and television, unwind from your busy daily schedule, and just enjoy nature.  We ALWAYS have a great time when we stay at Sportsmen’s Lodge.

Our family has made our annual trip to Eagle Lake Sportsmen’s Lodge for 17 years.  We fish for Walleye and have never been disappointed.  We have missed only one shore lunch in all those years!  Whatever the weather patterns, we can be on beautiful Eagle Lake and enjoy success.  The service we receive from Jim and Cindy is remarkable.  They treat us like family.  Of course the impeccably clean cabins and reasonable prices add to a special fishing vacation.

My wife and I have been going to Sportsmen's Lodge since 1995. Usually 2 to 4 times a year.  We have been to many other resorts but none where we are treated so well like family.  Everything is in order when we arrive.  Jim and Cindy are there to make your visit a memorable one.  The fishing is always great.  We catch all we want to eat and bring a limit home.  The resort is very clean and well furnished.  All you need to do is bring yourselves and be prepared for a fantastic time.  I have been up fishing and grouse hunting in the fall.  It is really beautiful there at that time of the year.  The bay is well protected so you can always get out fishing.  The docks are great with your own slip and electricity right there.  A great family place.  You owe it to yourself to give it a try.  They have many repeat customers and there is a reason for that.

This coming November will be my 5^th year in a row to travel 1600 miles one way from my home in New York State to Eagle Lake Sportsmen’s Lodge. I travel there to hunt whitetail deer. There are certainly some huge bucks in this area and with some hard work and a little luck, you may have an opportunity to harvest a record class animal.  

Jim and Cindy have several cabins overlooking the beautiful Eagle Lake. I have stayed in 3 different cabins and each one has been spotlessly clean and comfortable. The cabins are equipped with everything you could possibly need.  

Jim and Cindy are always there for you also. They go out of their way to make sure that your stay is enjoyable and rewarding. Each year I look forward to going back there because they make you feel like part of the family.

We have been vacationing at Eagle Lake Sportsmen’s Lodge for 8 years.  Our entire family (children and grandchildren alike) enjoy an affordable vacation with fantastic Walleye fishing, comfortable, clean lodging and helpful, friendly hosts, Jim and Cindy.  They have become friends, who we look forward to seeing at least once a year, and sometimes even more often.

Sportsmen's Lodge offers everything needed for a memorable and exciting fishing trip!  From the clean cabins, well-maintained boats, and excellent service from Jim and Cindy, I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.  Fishing of course has always been great.  Sportsmen's always supplies excellent live bait and Jim always takes the time to point you to the best places to fish based on the weather, wind direction and time of year.

I have been to Eagle Lake Sportsmen’s Lodge 5 times deer hunting and have always had a great trip.  The accommodations are outstanding.  The cabins are always clean and in good operating condition with all of the modern conveniences to make the stay enjoyable. 

Jim and Cindy are great hosts and are always there for you if you need something.  They are very outgoing and personable people willing to help in any way possible to make your hunting trip and vacation a success. 

Jim has always gone the extra mile to aid in our hunting success.  From watching to scouting before we arrive to ensure our best possible chance of filling our hunting tag. 

I have always seen deer and bagged a couple of outstanding BUCKS that are currently hanging on my wall.  I have passed on a couple of smaller bucks in lieu of waiting for the ultimate trophy.  But have always had a great hunt and spotted deer every time. 

I do plan on doing a fishing trip in the near future.

Over the past 11 years, I have been to ELSL at least 7 times, I think. Once with my wife and daughters, with my brother-in-law and nephews, with 7 guys I teach with, and at least 4 times with my Dad. That week in June is one I look forward to every year. Jim and Cindy are special people who run an average sized lodge with wonderful cabins and terrific equipment, all kept in exceptional condition. The cabins are clean and spotless with the boats and motors kept in top-notch condition. My Dad and I keep coming back for good reason. Easy access to the lodge, to the cabins, to the lake and all of the fishing we need within a 15 minute boat ride from the cabin. Many of the cabins are filled with the same people the same week each year so it is like a bunch of friends getting together to fish, relax and share Wednesday night meal together. I have been to other lodges on Eagle Lake and ELSL is the one I keep going to and recommend to others who are looking for a place to go fishing in Canada. Can't wait to get back there this summer and try out that archery moose hunt in 2010. Give ELSL a try, you won't be disappointed.

Sandi and I haven't been to the lodge in while, but we are certainly looking forward to going back again soon.

I'd been going to Eagle Lake Sportsmen's Lodge for years with my cousin, Jay.  I've seen a lot of changes over the years.  From new docks to new boats and motors, it seems every year there is something new and improved.  The cabins are being renovated, floor plans re-arranged a bit, or new appliances added - it's always something and always an improvement.

The one thing that is constant though, is the customer service.  Jim and Cindy always are there with a smile and a solution to any issue that may creep up.  With a smaller camp, the attention that the customer gets is a big deal.  Jim has time to tell you where the fish are, and Cindy has the time to help out with just about everything.  You won't find two nicer people anywhere on the planet.

I highly recommend Eagle Lake Sportsmen's Lodge to anyone considering a Canadian Vacation.  You won't be disappointed - I promise.

Carol and I are really looking forward to getting back to Sportsmen's Lodge.  Due to our Alaska trip in 2008 we were unable to come up.  This was the first time we've not gotten to Sportsmen's since Cindy and Jim took over and only the 3rd time since we started to come up in 1983.  We really enjoy being at Sportsmen's.  The rustic cabins with their modern facilities help make it an enjoyable and relaxing stay.  Cindy and Jim have really made a lot of updates over the years they've been there.  Eagle Lake is beautiful and the fishing has only improved over the years.
